｢Windows 10 S｣の｢Sモード｣化は来年に

先月、｢Windows 10 S｣のSKUは将来的には単体での提供は終了となり、｢Sモード｣として全ての｢Windows 10｣で利用可能になるようだとお伝えしましたが、本日、MicrosoftのWindows担当副社長であるジョー・ベルフィオーレ氏が、このことを正式に認めました。

同氏は『来年の｢Windows 10 S｣は別バージョンではなく、既存のバージョンの｢モード｣になる』と述べており、この変更が2019年に行われることを明らかにしています。

｢モード｣化されることにより、ユーザーは必要に応じて｢Sモード｣をオフにして、フル機能の｢Windows 10｣を制限なく利用することが可能になるとみられています。

We use Win10S as an option for schools or businesses that want the 'low-hassle'/ guaranteed performance version. Next year 10S will be a "mode" of existing versions, not a distinct version. SO … I think it's totally fine/good that it's not mentioned.
